How Tablets Are Transforming Business Intelligence
Meon makes its way to Android!
Those of you old enough to remember Windows Mobile no doubt played Meon at some point. The idea's simple enough — you use light to free the cute little Meons from whatever it is that's keeping them trapped. The game starts out simple, but pretty soon you'll be bouncing light off mirrors and changing colors with prisms to the point that you're not sure what started where, or where it's going to end up. It's strangely addicting.
The Android version is faithful to the original. Our only real complaint is that it doesn't really take advantage of the larger screen sizes.
Meon Lite gives you access to the first 32 levels, though chances are if you're anything like us, you'll spring 99 cents to get all 120 levels in the full version. We've got download links after the break.
Download: Meon Lite (free), Meon full (99 cents)

Panasonic teams up with NHK on 145-inch 8K Super Hi-Vision plasma TV (Update: video)
We thought the 8K 85-inch Super Hi-Vision LCD we saw during CES was impressive, but Japanese broadcaster NHK is already looking to surpass that by going even bigger. To that end it worked with Panasonic (above: that's Panasonic's Keishi Kubota on the left, Yoshio Ito of NHK on the right) to create this 145-inch prototype plasma, unveiled today as an example of the kind of displays we can expect to see once broadcasts jump to the higher resolution some day. The world's first self-illuminating Super Hi-Vision TV, it features every pixel of its expected 8K resolution -- 7,680 x 4,320. After working for months on smaller (only 85- or 103-inch) 4K plasmas, the two companies had to come up with an entirely new drive method for the display that works by scanning the pixels vertically to achieve a uniform picture quality. The NHK plans to show off the new display at its open house in May, although we're a bit more interested to see if we can watch the Olympics on it this summer. Check the gallery below for a few more pictures from DigInfo.TV's Ryo Osuga, or hit the more coverage link for a breakdown of the difficulties encountered in building a high resolution display that's this massive.
Update: Now with video from DigInfo.tv.

Selena Gomez Talks About The Other Justin In Her Life
Actress tells MTV News why 'NSYNC is her favorite boy band and how Justin Timberlake stole her early-teenage heart.
By Christina Garibaldi, with reporting by Kara Warner
If there is one thing we have learned in MTV's Battle of the Boy Bands, it's that all those boy band fans are extremely dedicated. Fans have proudly bonded together to show their allegiance to their favorite groups to help them advance to the next round, and as a result, we have had some shocking eliminations.
Yet, this bracket has also served as a reminder of why we fell in love with these groups to begin with. Whether it was their boyish good looks or catchy hit songs that hooked them, most people can probably name their favorite boy band of all time. So when we got the opportunity to sit down with Selena Gomez when she was promoting her new fragrance, we had to ask, which boy band stole her heart in her early teens?
"'NSYNC all the way, of course," Gomez revealed. "It was the first for me and then they did that tour with Britney [Spears] and I like lost my mind and will always remember that time in my life."
And when you have a favorite group, you have to have a favorite member, and Gomez's boy band crush coincidently has the same name as her current beau.
"It was Justin Timberlake," Gomez revealed. "But I think I also, I think I liked Lance Bass as well. ... He has pretty eyes."
Unfortunately for Gomez, 'NSYNC were knocked out in a battle against British boy band 5ive in the first round of competition. Luckily, she can still vote for the new wave of boy bands, The Wanted and One Direction.
"It's cool, that's kind of awesome that they're coming back and they legitimately are," Gomez said of boy bands making a comeback. "I like it."
Voting in round two of MTV's Battle of the Boy Bands runs until noon ET on Monday, April 30. Winners are determined by fan votes, so if your favorite band made the cut, make sure you keep voting. Tune in to AMTV and MTV Hits for their boy-band video takeovers each day and make sure to spread the word on Twitter using the hashtag #BBB and like us on Facebook for updates!

Google sells SketchUp to Trimble Navigation for undisclosed sum
While we're probably more accustomed to Google buying assets than selling them 'round here, every now and again the search giant does shed some skin. El Goog's 3D modeling platform, SketchUp, is to be sold to Trimble Navigation for an undisclosed sum reports Reuters. Trimble says it's hoping to use the acquisition to enhance its office-to-field platform. The two firms will also work together to develop SketchUp's online repository of 3D models for designers to use, share and contribute to. SketchUp's blog reassures users that the free version won't change under the move. The deal should get the final nod in Q2 this year.
